I got my self a 1985 winnebago lesharo, now this thing is rotten around the cab so I have cut the cab of a 1996 high roof renault van and welded it onto the winnebago chassis.
I started by doing a lot of measuring and planning on where to cut.
I ended up using a lot of the original seams and drilling out the spot welds.
The cuts were done using a jig saw and a 9 inch grinder.
I took a few days off work and had the cabs swapped within three days.
I got my dad to lift the old cab out with a forklift then slide the new cab in.
This should be a great job, the later cab is the same but with updated dash and is now right hand drive.
This looks like a lot of work, but to weld up the old cab would have been a lot more work.
